So, you decided to buy a puppy or dog? Congratulations! Now is the time to get ready for their new family member!

I suggest you buy the necessary equipment before your dog comes to her new home. This includes: box (if you're potty training your puppy on the way), dog bed, water bowl, collar, leash and some dog toys. * Note: If you plan on using the crate methond potty train your puppy, you should get a crate just big enough for your dog to stand, turn around and sleep comfortably. crate is supposed to represent the den, and of course dogs know that they should not use their dens as toilets. If there is extra space in the crate they will use it as insignificant.

You should also remember that if you're picking up your dog or puppy, you need a way of getting him home safely. There is no such thing as a dog carseats for small dogs, but you can also use a carrier or maybe his collar and leash. You must make sure its safe in the car, though, you do not want any broken legs or car crashes on the way home! You May have to take some tissue or paper towels, because if the puppies are not used for cars can urinate or vomit.

Another important thing to prepare your home! Dogs are curious, so you need to make sure that the various things that could be harmful to your dog are out of reach or locked. Here are some ideas of things that May need to consider:

- Power cords and wires that dogs can chew on.
- Furniature that the puppy may be able to fit under and could get trapped.
- Items that the puppy can chew or swallow.
- A hole in the fence to your puppy can slip and get loose.
- Bathing can be dangerous for your puppy, you can use a stair gate or guards.
- Fences should be placed around ponds or pools.
- Ensure that there is nothing that could fall on the puppy in the backyard or at home

If you are buying an older dog, obviously some of these factors may not apply to them. We still need to take into account some of them though!

You should also consider whether or not you're going to train your dog obedience.
