Specialty Pet Products and the Outdoor Cat

Should I let my cat outside? Does that make me an irresponsible owner of a cat?

Welcome to common cat questions. Depending on the environment and personality of your cat, open the options may be perfectly acceptable for your feline friend.

Ten years ago, I adopted Allie, one-year-old independent tabby with a love for adventure. At first, Allie received her indoors. She was content lounging on the furniture and playing with toys. But as time passed, her curiosity grew, and she longed to explore the outdoors. Allie would meow constantly, paws on the door and try to escape at any chance.

There are risks of letting the cat out. Kitty could be hit by a car, injured another animal or to flee. However, I wanted Allie to be happy and as my vet said to have "quality of life. " I knew Allie had some anxiety and justice, I needed to entertain the idea of adopting it in the open.

before letting your cat outside make sure of the following:

• Train your cat to come when you call by name or whistle. Reward your pet with a little wet food or tuna

• vaccinate your pet

• Be responsible and spay or neuter your pets,

• Kitty must be older than 6 months of age

• Install the purchase of a collar or microchip with current information

• Check out the kitty in the dark.

I'm glad to say Allie is an indoor / outdoor cat for six months. She was happier, less anxious and smiles often. Allie has also learned to come inside when I call for her. I'd like to think that I miss, but I know that tuna is her true love.
